Large and thriving populations of partridge, spruce, ruffed and sharp tail grouse make the region a great place for upland game birds. Waterfowl such as mallards, blue bills, geese, and other migratory species pass through the region in large numbers every fall. Our lakes are regular stopovers for these birds as they rest and fuel up for the next leg of their journey south for the winter.
