 Muskie Fishing in OntarioAccording to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources, less than one per cent of the world's fresh water harbours the mighty muskellunge. The great thing is that much of that water is in Ontario! We have a large number of fish holding lakes including Northern America's most northerly muskie lake! Feared by all other fish because of their status as the ecosystem's top predator, muskie usually conceal themselves among aquatic plants at the sides of channels, or lie suspended off shelving rocks and offshore shoals waiting to bring quick death to an unfortunate bait fish. Muskie will generally move into shallower water in the fall so adjust your fishing patterns in the cold weather.
Large artificial baits including wooden plugs; spoons; combination spoon and feather; bucktails; surface lures; and a variety of other large tackle are required.
